Manastir Ostrog je manastir Srpske pravoslavne crkve, smešten na skoro vertikalnom terenu, visoko u ogromnoj Ostroškoj Gredi, u blizini Nikšića. Manastir Ostrog je posvećen Svetom Vasiliju Ostroškom.Kompleks manastira Ostroga obuhvata dva dela, od kojih je prvi – veći Donji manastir, smešten oko Crkve Svete Trojice, sagrađene 1824. godine, oko koje je većina manastirskih objekata, uključujući i konak. Do belog, gornjeg manastira, usađenog u stenu, se stiže usponom uzanom stazicom, dužine 3 km, koja vodi uzbrdo, do dve malene pećinske crkve, od kojih je jedna posvećena Svetom Krstu i veličanstveno je oslikana freskama, koje su radili slavni srpski zografi Jovan i Radul, u 17. veku, prikazujući Svetog Savu i Svetog Vasilija Ostroškog i scene iz Hristovog života i velikih praznika.Manastir Ostrog je jedan od najviše posećenih na Balkanu. Ostrog Monastery, the most important Orthodox Christian pilgrimage site in Montenegro, is located near the village of Bogetici, approximately 25 miles northwest of the capital city of Podgorica. The monastery is situated on an almost vertical cliff, high up the large rock of Ostroska Greda.The monastery was founded by, and is dedicated to, Saint Basil (1610 – 1671). The monastery has two small churches, an upper and a lower. The Upper Church, built in a cave, was constructed and decorated with wall paintings in 1665, and is dedicated to the Holy Cross. The Lower Church dates from the 18th century and is dedicated to the Presentation of the Virgin Mary (Vavedenje of the Holy Mary). St. Basil’s body, which is believed to have miraculous healing powers, is enshrined in a reliquary kept in the Lower Church. I u Srpskom narodu , od kako on postade Hristov , Gospod neprekidno davaše Svoje svetitelje , u kojima se Bog proslavljaš i posvedočavaše , a pravoslavni ljudi kroz njih spasavaš i bogougodno prosvetljivaše .
Mnoge i velike svetitelje Gospod dade svakom kraju zemlje Srpske u svakom vremenu njegove istorije , i u prvo doba slobode i u kasnije doba ropstva . Tako i Zahumskoj zemlji Srpske , a kroz nju i svemu rodu svetosavskom , dade Bog u teško doba Turskog ropstva ovog svetog i bogonosnog oca našeg Vasilija , novojavljenog čudotvorca Ostroškog i Zahumskog ….
